I bought a Turnkey system from you guys last year (Element), and i'm very very happy with it. It's been a very solid system for me, and although i do lots of orchestral arrangements with big sessions and tons of plug ins, it doesn't crash on me at all... as far as the computer performance, i don't have any complaints.
I mostly do orchestral arrangements, but i also do pop arrangements as well. I use Finale first to score the arrangement, and then import it into Pro Tools as a MIDI file. Then , i record that MIDI file into an audio track using samples libraries and plug in, and that's where this system comes very handy."

GigaStudio is great for streaming multiple tracks of audio, but it’s a very demanding program.... it’s crucial that the hardware is completely top notch and bottleneck free. We chose Rain (Recording) Element 64 and have never had a glitch."

Hello, must say what a good investment this was... I just purchased a Rain Recording Nimbus desktop, and decided to upgrade to the Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66 ghz processor. I have Adobe Creation Suite Production Studio Premium 3, and Cakewalk Sonor Power Studio 6 loaded. I'm amazed of the quietness of the system as a whole; athough skeptical at first,because of the light weight, I now know this is a quality machine and I hope to have it for years to come.
Setting next to me is a Dell XPS unit that is almost identical in specs and higher in price. I can't compare the two machines any further than that. There is no comparison!"

Dear Rain, Just sending you this message to give you a giant thumbs up in regards to my Solstice machine. Finally I have a system that provides zero restrictions for creative music composition. Multiple tracks of VST instruments, assorted effects, running glitch free with multiple tracks of audio.
With my previous system I could not even run 2 instances of Moog Modular with out an issue. Now with the Solstice machine the ability to freely asign any combination of vsti with effects & audio arrangements, has freed up my compositions and brought back the means to go crazy with ideas, with no fear of running out of grunt in the processor/reliabilty department!
I use the following software/hardware with the Solstice:
Cubase 4, Arturia Moog Modular, Arturia CS-80,
Waldorf Attack Percussion, Stienberg Halion sampler, and assorted 3rd party VST instruments, outboard synths include, Fairlight MFX series 3, Waldorf XTK Wavetable synth, Korg micro, Emu Mo Phat. Alesis io2 usb audio interface, M-audio 88 usb controller keyboard.
So, Thank you for your powerful & dedicated music/audio computer. It truly comes to the party regarding power and performance!"
I have to say I've had no problems at all with it, despite hitting it with some of the biggest mix projects I've ever had to deal with. It's great to have a machine with this kind of horsepower, because it allows me to choose the most appropriate plug-ins for the mix job at hand, without having to make quality compromises to conserve CPU horsepower, and there are Mix Rescue challenges I can now take on that would have been unthinkable on my previous setup."

LiveBook Diablo
Last August I bought one of the last Diablo LiveBooks, along with an eSATA RAID StormDrive.
I am a composer and a lover of all things music. I don't make any money at it, but really enjoy the creative process of putting songs together, hearing them develop, and taking them to fruition. Some of them sound good, some of them simply suck. But it's still fun regardless.
I use SONAR Producer 7, with its 64-bit internal engine, along with BFD 2.0, to which I have dedicated the two eSATA drives (Raid Configuration... J.B.O.D). I'm only going at an audio resolution of 44KHz and 24-bits, but I can take a full 32-piece drum kit in BFD, and also run other soft instruments such as the Proteus X2 with no glitches. There is heavy RAM access and disc streaming going on and my LiveBook Diablo just keeps on going. I also track guitar and bass with my PODX3 into my Tascam FW-1884 and it sounds pretty good. For mixdowns and mastering, I also have run the various VST Roger Nichols Signature Bundle Plug-Ins with no skips or hiccups. I have not tried to record anything at higher resolutions yet, because I just turned 51 and I am not sure I can hear the difference anyway!

Rain Recording has provided the last piece of my fully digital production puzzle! The ION Rackmount PC has now allowed me to fully realize my goal of a fully digital workstation. It's more than powerful enough to run not only my DAW but all of my soft-synths as well (with headroom to spare!) Good-bye hardware synths!"
